I moved to North Carolina about a year and a half ago and this is the first time I've really felt my business starting to take off since I've been here. I have to say, it feels incredibly awesome! I have 8 weddings booked for this year. Twice as many as I had in 2009. My April is completely packed with tons of awesome shoots. I'm such a lucky photographer!
All of this greatness has inspired me to write a goals list for this year. My business always has room to grow and improve.
1. Buy a 5D Mark II and a lens. (I have coveted this camera for a very long time and its finally almost time to upgrade.)
2. Upgrade to the latest photoshop software
3. Advertise locally (in Statesville): Make and put fliers in neighborhood mailboxes and advertise to seniors at the high school.
4. Print new client consultation albums. (The ones I use are pretty outdated!)
5. Make client consultation packets
6. Order custom Silverleaf Dvd packaging
7. Revamp my website...and possibly even my logo
8. Update my wedding package prices
9. Create a better system for backing up photos.
10. Open a Silverleaf business banking account.
11. Turn in photos to magazines and other publications
12. Buy small items to make business run smoother: 2nd camera bag, extra battery for new camera, a card reader, another 16GB card, etc...
*I wrote this post a week ago and then my internet stopped working so I never got it posted. I have bought the Canon 5D Mark II and a lens and used it for the first time at a wedding yesterday. It is awesome and I can't wait to share the pictures from the wedding! I love that camera!
