1 year anniversary!

This month (July) marks Silverleaf Photography's 1 year anniversary.  When I went into college 7 years ago I thought I could either be a teacher or a photographer.  When I couldn't decide which one I wanted to do more, I did both.  I majored in education and was the photography coordinator of my dorm for two years.  (Ran the darkroom and sat on the arts council)  The second two years I continued studying to become a teacher and worked at a photography lab and studio off campus.  In fall of 2007 I started my real teaching career and in summer of 2008 I started my photography business.  Its hard to believe that both of my dreams came true.  I have wanted to be a teacher since as early in elementary school that I can remember and I've wanted to be a photographer since my freshman year of high school.

In the last year I have shot 10 weddings (with 4 more booked for 2009),  9 engagement sessions, and a dozen other portraits.  I never expected to do so well.  The business just took off!  I have had so much fun starting my business and I can't wait for it to continue growing!  Thanks to all of you who have trusted me to photograph these important events in your lives.  I couldn't do it without you!  I also want to thank Stephanie Zuroff who helped by making my awesome website and blogsite and also answered any and every question I had!  You've been a great asset to Silverleaf Photography :)

Enjoy some (goofy) pictures of me shooting in a recent wedding.  These photos were taken by my dad.

You know you like those white legs...

Since then I've spent more time in the sun and my legs are more tan.

After seeing this I'm starting to be a lot more conscious of what my face looks like when I have a camera in front of it.
